While the older generations may have blocked progress for a while in the US, children across the globe will think of ideas for a better future in the Global Children’s Designathon on Saturday 12 November. Children in Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Nairobi, Panjim, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Tunis, Willemstad and Zagreb will participate in a design marathon, researching and inventing ideas for a circular production.

The Designathon is an initiative of Ashoka Fellow Emer Beamer, propagating the ‘learning by design’ and ‘maker’s education’ methods. The global Designathon is meant to make the world aware of the necessity to reform the education of children and provide them with the tools to make themselves a better future, Beamer says.
