Now that Fashion Weeks are taking place everywhere during the months of January and February, every now and then we’re delighted to present you a label that creates its collection in an honest, humane and environmentally friendly manner. For although such fashion is much discussed and written about, it’s still not the norm in the massive clothing business.
Edun is a global fashion brand set up in 2005 by Ali Hewson and Bono to promote trade in Africa. Edun does that by sourcing production throughout the continent, ensuring long-term sustainable growth opportunities for manufacturers, improving infrastructure, and supporting initiatives for creating communities. Some 85% of the Spring 2014 collection is produced in Sub-Saharan Africa, a region badly in need of change for the better.
Most important of all, of course, is the fashionability! With creative director Danielle Sherman at the helm, Edun brings us fresh, elegant, graphic and relaxed chic. Check the website for more fine things.
