What Design Can Do 2014 is ready to roll. Our team, friends and partners gathered in Amsterdam last week for a new year’s reception to set the WDCD roller coaster in motion again.
WDCD director Richard van der Laken took the opportunity for brief review of the past year and an even quicker preview of the coming event, which promises to be the best ever.
Guests who will take the WDCD stage on 8 & 9 May 2014 include design curator of MoMA Paola Antonelli, biodesign researcher Rachel Armstrong, Google Creative Lab director Richard The, and Taiwanese-British IT entrepreneur Shaolan Hsueh, who will present Chineasy, her amazing Chinese language learning tool.
Plans were also unveiled for the WDCD film programme to accompany the conference (‘the best design film programme anywhere on earth’) and for this blog (‘the best blog on the impact of design anywhere on the net’).
Attendees furthermore welcomed Marian Spier, WDCD’s fresh new business director, known to many for her work with TEDxAmsterdam and TEDxAmsterdamWomen. Marian takes over from Lisette Schmetz, who steps down after overseeing the growth of WDCD during its first three years.
The positive energy was palpable. We’re good to go.
