Big news for all young creatives in the Netherlands: the Refugee Challenge has teamed up with the ADCN for a very special edition of their annual Talent ‘Lamp’ competition! Ideas can be entered between the 18th of March and the 1st of April.
A Talent Award with real impact
With this collaboration, ADCN and WDCD invite all creative talent in the Netherlands (younger than 30 years, all disciplines) to come up with game-changing ideas for accommodating, connecting, integrating and helping the personal development of refugees in urban areas. While the brief for this specific competition remains the same as it is for the global WDCD Refugee Challenge; ADCN’s focus will be on finding and fostering bright thinkers of the future.
As Dinesh Sonak, Managing Director ADCN, explains: “We aim to accelerate talent both in classic creative skills for communications purposes as well as in creative problem-solving and innovation skills needed to have real impact in the 21st century. The opportunity is to develop a generation of creative minds who can solve brand and social challenges at the same time.” To this, WDCD founder Richard van der Laken adds: “Together with the creative power of ADCN we are convinced that we will find bold ideas that can make a difference in the refugee crisis.”
Two challenges for the price of one
When joining the ADCN Talent Awards, you also automatically participate in the international WDCD Refugee Challenge. This means that your one entry could potentially win an ADCN Talent Lamp – the career kick-starting accolade – as well as the global Challenge prize of 10,000 euros for the implementation of the your idea. There is no submission cost to either challenge.
Interested? Join the live briefing on Thursday the 17th of March at 19.30h at Club ADCN, where Richard van der Laken (also an ADCN Board member) and Dagan Cohen (WDCD Challenge leader) will be joined by Jonathan Spampinato, head of communications and strategic planning at the IKEA Foundation. Together they will present to explain the why, what and how of the Challenge.
