Touria Meliani

Touria Meliani grew up in Winterswijk and studied cultural social formation at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Meliani worked for many years as a cultural entrepreneur and was director of art and music center the Tolhuistuin. She also owned Meliani Productions and held various ancillary positions in the cultural sector. She was also committed to the foundation Ieder1, a movement to increase diversity.

Since May 2018, Meliani has been alderperson of Amsterdam with her portfolio of Arts and Culture, Events and Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Policy since the college term 2022-2026.

Alderperson Touria Meliani will kick off the event on main stage in the morning.
