Morning Talk: On Gracious A.I. with Lisanne Buik

A WDCD Live Amsterdam 2024 Side Event

On 5 July, What Design Can Do returns to Amsterdam for the 12th edition of its annual festival on the impact of design. Over a day of talks, exhibitions and workshops, we’ll explore how creativity can be a tool for climate justice, and learn from leading thinkers and makers who are paving the way.

This year, ticket-holders are also invited to attend a exclusive presentation on 4 July, by festival speaker Lisanne Buik. Lisanne is an artist-futurist whose work explores the ethics of AI tools and technologies and how they can accelerate the transition to a regenerative future.

Beyond hope, she makes abstract future scenarios tangible and real, showing the consequences of ethical trade-offs we make today. Her AI ethics consultancy Gracious AI is dedicated to providing actionable strategies and insights that can help professionals and organizations develop, deploy and use AI graciously.

Join us to hear Lisanne’s take on this critical topic and explore what AI can mean for your own creative practice. During this exclusive session, we’ll also be joined by the winners of the Redesign Everything Challenge, who will present their work on the main stage at the festival on 5 July.
