In this hands-on workshop, graphic designers, illustrators and visual storytellers are invited inside the editorial process of De Groene Amsterdammer — one of the Netherlands’ leading investigative magazines.
You’ll learn how editorial teams select and collaborate with image-makers, what they look for in terms of style and substance, and how visuals can enhance the power of a story without falling into cliché or oversimplification. Together with editors and artists, you’ll explore how to approach sensitive subjects with integrity, nuance, and visual clarity.
Through real case studies and a practical assignment, you’ll develop your own concept for a journalistic illustration — and receive feedback from professionals like visual editor Floor Koomen and makers Isa Grütter and Pepijn Zurburg.
This is a rare opportunity to learn how to strengthen journalistic stories through compelling visual work, contribute to truth-telling, and help counter disinformation.
