Designing a Circular (Leidse) Square

Climate change demands bold action and creative leadership from society. The shift from a linear make-sell-waste economy to a circular economy is one of the biggest creative challenges of our time. We need to rethink the way we live, consume and do business. Cities are the hotbeds for circular transformations, in which loops are closed and where consumer behaviour nurtures innovation and change. Creative leadership is needed to tackle current city pressures & complex challenges. How can we help incorporate circularity into everyday public life?
ADCN & Circle Economy invite participants to contribute their creative genius to change the way brands interact with consumers. This workshop will help you understand the opportunities and challenges that key brands, horeca and other public stakeholders have and what kind of design leadership is needed to accelerate towards a circular city. During this unique workshop setting you are invited to create and prototype a future circular vision of Leidse square Amsterdam.
Format
In this Circular Brands workshop we will take up the challenge to redesign one of Amsterdam’s key public spaces: the Leidse Square, working together with professionals, brands, entrepreneurs and public stakeholders around the square. We will work in groups zooming in on user needs and behaviour of a specific brand or stakeholder. By applying design thinking methodologies, you will create a future circular vision of public life at the Leidse square and design concrete solutions for the entrepreneurs and stakeholders around it. Put your circular vision on the map in the heart of Amsterdam.
Takeaway
With this workshop you will understand how circular thinking can impact your own city. You will start a creative dialogue and collaboration with brands and likeminded creative minds and will gain insights form circular brand & design leadership experts. You will help develop a circular design leadership agenda for the brands you love or loath around Leidse square. Get heard!
